“ This is definitely what I consider a "high end up scale" Chinese restaurant. The interior is beautifully designed & quit large dining area. I came on a weekend and was immediately seated during dinner time! The menu has varies options to select from including dim sum! I ordered the beef jerky and chicken lo mein. I thought the beef dish was well flavored & spicy as expected. For the chicken lo mein, the noodles were cooked perfectly! I felt that this dish should have been a little more saucier & contained a little more veggies to be included for my liking. Service was super nice & friendly! The food came out relatively fast as well. ”
“ I absolutely love Mama Chang! We have been here a handful of times and referred so many friends. The food has authentic Chinese flavors and can't be beat. I've loved all of Peter Chang's restaurants and this one is no different - although, it is currently my favorite. We typically get a few things to share, but our go-to is the Wuhan Noodles and Lychee Chicken - those are must-have's! The scallion pancake is quite a sight and always fun to order when someone has never been there :) The sauce is delish and has a unique flavor that pairs well with the puffy giant pancake! The soup dumplings are so packed full of yummy umami flavor... try them! The staff are really accommodating. Now that I know some dishes have cilantro (gross, don't judge- I have the gene!) I ask for it not to be included as a garnish. The staff are super accommodating to requests. The food comes out fast, so if you like to pace yourself, only order 1-2 things at a time. While the restaurant is fairly large, it does fill up fast, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. I have never had to wait when I've had a reservation. ”
“ I came to Mama Chang for a dinner on Sunday evening with a group of 10. We ordered the Peking duck, cumin lamb shank, pork belly, spicy fish with tofu, mapo tofu, kong xin cai, dou miao, mapo tofu, and the large puff ball. The serving size for the Peking duck was about 2 wraps per person, and came with the usual sides, hoisin sauce, cucumber, and celery. The cumin lamb, spicy fish with tofu, and mapo tofu had a medium level of spice. The flavors are very authentic and is one of the better Peter Chang restaurants in the DMV area! Was very glad to try out Mama Chang since the Peter Chang in the Rockville Town Center has went down in quality and changed their menu. ”
“ Great authentic Chinese. This place is always on the best-of lists in NOVA, and there's a reason why. Food is awesome. We had a hard time interpreting the menu, but the server helped us well. Highly recommend. ”
“ I went to Mama Chang's for the dimsum brunch with my girl friends, and I was seriously impressed! It was packed - which was expected for a weekend, and we had a little bit of a wait time, but it was worth the wait. We ordered a lot of dimsum. I don't even remember the names of the dishes we ordered, and the dishes arrived quickly. By the time 5 of our orders arrived, we were already full, but we wanted to try more items, so we ordered a little bit more on their dimsum menu. Our server was really attentive and accommodating to us. The restaurant was spacious and can sit small groups and large groups. I wish they would make the dimsum menu available during some other weekdays as well. I really enjoyed my experience and I cannot wait to visit again soon! ”
“ This Chinese restaurant is hands down the best in the DMV area! We have dined here multiple times and have always left fully satisfied. The food is delicious and made with the freshest and highest quality ingredients, with little to no MSG. The interior decor adds to the dining experience, and the service is consistently top-notch. We can always count on a great experience here. We can't wait to return and try even more dishes soon! ”
“ 5 stars ALL AROUND. This has been in my list for a while now and we finally went this weekend! It was worth the waiting and absolutely lived up to the hype. Although we missed the full dim sum menu, there were still a few dim sum items on the menu that we were able to try! We started with the pork and shrimp soup dumpling, the port shumai and the chive and seafood pan seared dumplings. All three were 10/10. You can tell they were freshly made, packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. Of the three, the chive and seafood dumpling was my favorite! For entrees we split the combination lomein and the asparagus and shrimp with a side of dry fried cauliflower. Again, delicious. You could tell how fresh everything was and the lomein was garlicky, which was different and delicious. Although past the point of full, we ended our meal with the best, freshly made pineapple buns I have ever had. Worth every bite! The cherry on top was our waitress! She was attentive, helpful and kind. Every time she noticed our plates dirty between courses, she would swap them out. She helped guide us through the menu and never seemed rushed even though the place was POPPIN. We will be going back for sure - next time during dim sum hours! Highly recommend making reservations though, they get busy! ”
“ This is a neat place. Super clean. Great staff. Plenty of parking. Food: Very good. Love the diversity of the menu. Lots of choices and at different price points. Venue is a bit upscale. Nice. ”
“ Mama Changs is now a favorite. I can't wait to get back to try some of their other dishes. The food is authentic, delicious, and affordable. Our party of two was seated as soon as we walked in. We ordered four dishes to share: Hand pulled noodles with beef, Half Peking Duck, Pork Soup Dumplings, and Napa Cabbage with Tofu Skin. The flavor of the beef noodles is to die for. It's slightly spicy and packed with meat and two different types of noodles. Peking duck was perfection, with the crunch from the crispy duck skin. Of course, the dumplings and cabbage were tasty too, but I think I would have been just as satisfied with the noodles and duck. Serving portions are generous for what you're paying. I expected the bill to be much higher. Service was fast and friendly. There should be no issues with parking. Can't wait to get more of Mama Chang! ”
